MHCP (Medicare)
Under the government’s ‘Better Access to Mental Health Care’ (MHCP) initiative, limited Medicare rebates are available for treatment by registered psychologists. Individuals can get rebates for up to ten counselling sessions per calendar year. The rebate is $88.25 per session (see Medicare fact sheet found on the Medicare website for further explanation).
To receive Medicare rebates, you will need a referral from your GP (or a psychiatrist or pediatrician). They will complete a comprehensive mental health care plan and provide a referral to a psychologist.
Private Health Insurance
We are registered with the major private health insurance organisations and have HICAPS terminals, which allow you to make your private health rebate claim on the spot as soon as you’ve paid. Alternatively, we can provide you with a receipt allowing you to claim your rebate from your insurer at a later date.

Cancellation Policy
When appointments are booked, the psychologist reserves the whole session especially for you. Therefore, the following cancellation policy is in place to allow us to offer the allocated time to another person who may be on a waiting list for that appointment. We require 24 Hours Notice to reschedule or cancel a session without incurring any extra fees or the Full fee will be charged for non-attendance.
We understand that sometimes you may be unable to keep an appointment because of sudden illness or an unexpected personal emergency. If this happens to you, please contact us as soon as possible to explain the situation. You may call/sms our office at any time, even after hours, as we do have an answering service that allows you to leave a message. Reasonable circumstances will not incur cancellation fees.
